New Furniture

Finally something to blog about. Our furniture arrived this morning after only a little over three months of waiting. What do you think? Mom now thinks we need to paint the walls, any color suggestions? We also don't think the blue curtains match any more. Any thoughts on color and style? The new furniture is so much bigger bulk and area wise than the old, that the living room just seemed to fill right up. We moved the fireplace to the NE corner and had to put the new shelves in the space in the hallway. We think they look okay there, any thoughts? You can see them in one of the pictures. Mal just came over and she really likes the furniture, but agrees that some redecorating needs to be done.
The weather is beautiful today. The snow is melting very fast and making lakes all over because the ground is still frozen and the water can't soak into it. We have a good sized lake on the east side of the yard on the drive way and in the east row of trees. Saw a gopher on the road just west of our yard yesterday, the first one I've seen this year. Hope everyone is getting the e-mails and photos from Steve as we forward them. If you're not let us know.

Great day today. We talked to Steve at 5:00 or so this morning when he was at the Salt Lake airport. He sounded very excited to be finally heading out to Toronto. He didn't sound at all homesick which was really great to not hear. He tried to phone us from Houston about 8:45 but unfortunately Mom and I were both gone for a few minutes, me to Ag-Steel and Mom to Grandma Wilde's. However Steve phoned again about 4:00 or so from Toronto right after they landed and we got to talk a little again Scott and Mandy were here then and they got to say hi too. Later this evening, about 8:00 maybe, Steve's mission president called and talked to Mom (she answered the phone). He told Mom that Steve had arrived and all was going well. He said that Steve was very excited to be there and was very enthusiastically waiting to start working in the field. He said steve would go to his first assignment after a day or so of orientation. He said Steves e-mail address stays the same stevescott@mylds.net. That call was an exciting and reassuring call to finish off a great day.
Mandy downloaded a few recent pictures for us so I've included a few for y'all to view.

Blogging

Well I guess Mom and I don't lead to exciting a life or something. I love to read about all the exciting things happening at Patrickposse and Coopsoup and then I can't seem to think of much to say on Warmchinooks. I was just thinking about the journals Mom gave all of you though. Are you writing in them. I started writing in the journal section of Scriptures on "my" i-pod touch the day we left Steve at the MTC (Thats the day I inherited the i-pod). I'm proud to say that I haven't missed a day yet. I haven't figured out how to get the entries off the i-pod yet though. We wrote Steve on dearelder last night so today will be his last mail delivery at the MTC. Can't believe he's been there nearly three weeks. Guess you all know he flies out Monday morning at 6:00am. Dan will be here tomorrow to get the Van. It looks like the weather will be nice for his return trip. Mom and I are going to a Raymond Stake musical presentation about the life of Christ tonight, mom got the tickets off Jeanie at work. I guess I'll go. It's Bennies farewell this Sunday and we're eating at the church again. Did you see my new blog picture it's me with the crabs we caught crabbing. They tasted pretty good when we ate them at super time. I've added a few pictures from the Trip to Port Moody.
